Suicide Prevention: Getting Help


Suicide is a serious public health issue that affects people of all ages, races, genders, and socioeconomic backgrounds. It is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States, and it is the second leading cause of death among young people ages 15-24. Suicide Prevention Month is an important time to raise awareness of this issue and to talk about how we can help prevent suicide.

  • Making preparations for death, such as giving away belongings or making a will

  • Changes in behavior, such as sleeping more or less than usual or losing interest in activities they used to enjoy

If you or someone you know is showing warning signs of suicide, it is important to reach out for help immediately.
